Our mission

Hawai’i is different from the rest of the United States.. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said in his 1959 visit to Hawai’i that the diversity of Hawai’i ‘s racial makeup was something to be strived for, “As I looked at all of these various faces and various colors mingled together like the waters of the sea, I could see only one face-- the face of the future!” Hawaii has the highest population of mixed-race people of any state in the US. Considering that, the many mixed race children of Hawai’i don’t have many stories referencing their multiraciality. Every one deserves to have their story told, and it’s something special when kids get to see themselves in stories.
